Recent Requirements from Brazilian Authorities

 

Dear Agents:
 

According to Brazilian Customs Regulation, B/Ls and AWBs must show the CNPJ and NCM numbers.

 

This number, CNPJ (formerly known as CGC#), must be informed by the shipper and input in the field "Consignee" on B/L. In the case B/L is consigned "To the Order" input it in the field "Notify".

 

Additionaly, the corresponding Harmonized NCM Code, will be also required in the Bills of Lading's cargo description field "Description of packages and goods".
 
In the case of MB/L, the CNPJ to be used is the one related to the agent at destination, while in the case of HB/L it will be related to the Consignee.
