     VERY IMPORTANT 

 

            In order to accomplish Brazilian Government requirements its necessary to:

 

-          Declare FREIGHT VALUE on MBL and HBL. It is mandatory whether freight is prepaid or collect. Manifesting “freight as agreed” is PROHIBITED by law.

-          Avoid OVER TYPED documents. Over typed documents are NOT accepted.

-        Global Goods gets shipment documentation 5 BUSINESS DAYS prior to ETA. Documents MUST be submit to Brazilian Maritime Commission (Marinha Mercante) 72 HOURS prior to vessel arrival date. Otherwise, Brazilian Customs will apply a FINE OF ABOUT USD 35.00 (THIRTY FIVE US Dollars) PER PIECE SHIPPED, due late presentation of shipping documents. Brazilian Customs understand that "PIECE" is not the container or pallet but the UNIT OF GOODS.

 Concerned about demurrage costs Global Goods kindly request you to get at least 20 days as free time  from steamship lines.

PARANAGUA - SHIPMENTS TO PARANAGUA WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT PREVIOUS INQUIRY

    Paranagua Port does not accept express release at destination. Besides, HBL must be duly signed in blue ink,  marked by impressed or adhesive company stamp and name of signer must be clearly written.

RIO GRANDE - PENALTY FOR LATE PRESENTATION OF DOCUMENTS (48 HOURS PRIOR TO THE VESSEL ARRIVAL):

     Minimum FINE for late presentation of documents in Rio Grande: BRL5.000,00 (Aprox. USD2,000.00)

 

     Shipment documentation requested (special cases will be instructed according)

 

1.       MASTER B/L ISSUANCE

 

-          3 (three) Originals duly rated and signed

-          3 (three) Non-Negotiable Copies duly rated and signed

           

Shipper

Must show name of Freight Forwarder, which have to be registered at Brazilian Customs through "Appointment Letter". This letter must be duly legalized by a Notary Public from your State/Country and by the Brazilian Consulate at origin before you started sending your shipments to us.

Freight Terms

DO NOT show sea freight rate as “As Agreed” on B/L. This is FORBIDDEN by Brazilian Law whether freight is prepaid or collect. B/L must be rated with buying rate.

 

2.       HOUSE B/L

 

-          3 (three) Originals duly rated and signed

-          3 (three) Non-Negotiable Copies duly rated and signed

 

Freight Terms

HOUSE B/L MUST be duly rated in figures (Ex: USD 500.00) and written in full (Ex: FIVE   HUNDRED US DOLLARS)

 

For collection and remittances purposes please note that it is NOT allowed to include (break down) any F.O.B. charges on HOUSE B/L such as B/L fee, THC, Inland charge, etc. No problems if freight is prepaid.

 

Date of HOUSE B/L

MUST be same of MASTER B/L or prior date of MASTER B/L. It can NEVER be after date of MASTER B/L.

 

Details of Sub-Agent

It is mandatory to show on HOUSE B/L details of agent on appropriate box as "Contact for Release of Shipment".

 

Container Number

Must be always shown on HOUSE B/L.

 

We must receive Non-Negotiable Copies printed in your letterhead HOUSE B/L form.

Photocopies, fax copies or similar are not accepted by Brazilian Customs

 

3.       CARGO MANIFEST

 

-          3 Originals issued by your company on letterhead paper of your company

 

4.       CO-LOADING SHIPMENTS

 

Before you do any co-loading arrangements, please talk to us, since there are many NVOCC in Brazil who are not able to accomplish with Brazilian Customs formalities and it may result in strong penalties to be paid.

 

            Global Goods Operational Procedures

 

1.       Rate quotation

 

Global Goods will appreciate  receiving:

 

-          updated rates provided by major steamship lines calling Brazilian major ports.

-          complete information about pre-carriage expenses.

-          Non informed costs will not be charged from  consignee.

-          Complete information about services offered by carriers.

 

2.       Routing Order

 

Global Goods will send you by fax (always) and email appropriate Routing Order showing:

 

-          R/O number (Must be mentioned in every message exchanged)

-          Shipper and Consignee (full details)

-          Reference Number informed by shipper/consignee

-          Commodity

-          Incoterms and requested service

-          POL and POD

-          Detailed instructions

-          Buying rates as provided by you and selling rates as agreed with client

 

3.       Shipment Status/Follow up

 

Global Goods will be waiting for updated information to keep clients posted

 

4.       Booking

 

Global Goods will be waiting for booking information to review and confirm Shipping Instructions

 

5.       Pre-Alerts

 

Global Goods will be waiting for faxed or e-mailed pre-alert enclosing:

 

-          Original Invoice duly signed by shipper

-          Master Bill of Lading draft

-          House Bill of Lading

-          Cargo Manifest

-          Freight Invoice/Credit Note charging/crediting Global Goods properly

 

Pre-alert must be forward to us prior to the shipment, obviously.

 

6.       Confirmation reply

 

Global Goods will reply confirming if everything is OK.

 

7.       Original documentation deliverance

 

Documents must be mailed through reliable courier service (FEDEX, DHL and UPS) no longer than 4 days after vessel departure. A MB/L copy sent by fax or email will be expected even on issuance at destination cases. AWB/Tracking Number must be informed immediately.
